How can I install RMail?

RMail Web is available as a web app on all platforms.
Does the receiver need to do anything to get my messages?
No. The unique functionality of RMail ensures that the recipient does not need to install any plugins or programs, register on websites or acquire a license. You can send your messages to anyone without worrying about the recipient.
Can I use RMail with iPhone or iPad?

Can I use RMail with Gmail?

How long does the installation and setup take?
The installation and setup process takes less than 5 minutes.
How do I determine the bit version of Outlook?
All versions of Outlook prior to Microsoft Office 2010 are 32-bit programs. If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2010 or later, you can determine the bit version by clicking “Help” in Outlook. The version number will be displayed on the first page.
Can I use RMail on a Mac?
For the MS Office Suite under OS X in conjunction with Outlook there is currently no add-in available. To use RMail on a Mac, you can use RMail for Web or the Gmail application. You will also find the app for iPhone and iPad here.
Can I change my subscription package?

Will unused units be transferred to the following period?
For the Business and Business Pro licenses our Fair Usage Policy applies in specific grades. Similar to the data volume of a mobile phone contract, unused units expire at the end of the month and the period restarts. The units used in Business and Business Pro contracts with fixed units are reset at the beginning of each month.
The enterprise solutions are subject to individual conditions.
Do I get an overview of my usage?
Yes, once a month you receive a complete report on your RMail usage, including recipients, times, etc.
What happens if I exceed the number of monthly available messages?
Our Fair Usage Policy applies.
In the event of excessive use of the service and repeated exceedance of the normal framework according to the Service Plan, as well as in case of using our automated processing services (unless contractually agreed), we reserve the right to stop the service until the beginning of a new billing cycle.
Can I change the service plan later?
Yes, at any time. Use the upgrade option of the plug-in (or the app) or contact us. We are happy to help you.
Which RMail service plans can I choose?
We offer service plans for almost every need, both for individual as well as for business communication. Contact us to find a suitable solution for you.
Can I cancel my purchase of RMail?
Yes, but only within 14 days and only if you have not yet started using your subscription.
What maximum number of users does RMail support?
RMail is a flexible solution. You can add as many users as you like.
How can I change the users of my service plans?
We provide you with an access to the RPortal. In the portal you have the desired access to the settings and users of the service. Alternatively contact us via this site and we’ll get back to you shortly.
How long is my cancellation period for RMail?
Your contract has a fixed term with a notice period of 90 days in advance.
Can I pay my subscription by credit card?
Yes, individual licenses can be paid by credit card.

Where can I find the RMail functions?
The RMail functions appear after clicking on the RMail “send registered” button directly above the “send” button in Outlook. In other email programs, the features may be found elsewhere. For example, in Gmail, the options are at the bottom of the window.
Can I send “normal” emails in addition to RMail?
Yes, RMail is a solution that complements and improves your current email solution. Whenever you send an email, you can opt for a transmission method. To use RMail, simply click on the “send registered” button instead of the usual “send” button.
How do I know that my email has been sent?
You will first receive a confirmation that your message is on its way to the recipient. Within 2 hours you will receive a receipt (Registered Receipt) proving where and when your email was delivered to the recipient. If the recipient has opened the email before you get the receipt, this is also apparent.
What is SideNote?
A SideNote is a private notice visible only for CC or BCC recipients. This eliminates the necessity to send additional emails with comments intended only for CC or BCC recipients.
Can I send SideNotes to BCC recipients?
Yes. You decide who receives your SideNote.
What is the difference between a registered letter and a registered email?
With a registered email you receive a receipt for the delivery, similarly to a registered letter. With RMail, however, this receipt is stored digitally. In addition, this Registered Receipt contains a digitally signed and encrypted version of your original email. This allows you to authenticate the integrity and originality of the entire process at a later date.
This allows you to prove the content of your message, including the email addresses involved. RMails are emails with high evidential value when it comes to who said what, when, how and to whom.
Additionally, whenever you send an RMail message, you economise delivery costs compared to postal shipment.
Why can’t I not just use Outlook’s read receipt?
Many users have disabled this feature. Furthermore, you cannot prove the content of your original message. Outlook confirmations (“Delivered” and “Read”) can be manipulated. The Registered Receipt of RMAIL cannot be manipulated and contains an encrypted version of the original content.

How do I know that my email has been sent?

How can I prove that my email has been delivered?
When you send an RMail message, you automatically receive a Registered Receipt, which documents the delivery path of the email to the recipient. This record also includes an embedded version of your original message, including attachments. This way, you can always prove who sent what, when and to whom.
Will my Registered Receipts be organized automatically?
Yes. RMail creates a subfolder in your email archive for the Registered Receipts.
Do RMail or other service providers save my registered messages and attachments?
No. The content and attachments of your messages are embedded in the Registered Receipts which are in your local email archive.
Can the recipient of my emails verify the content?
Yes, you can forward the receipt (Registered Receipt) to your recipient. He can restore the original content and verify its authenticity by forwarding it to (the address is noted in the receipt).
What is SideNote?

Can I send SideNote comments also (exclusively) to BCC recipients?
Yes. You decide who receives your SideNote.
Can the recipient of my registered email likewise reply with a registered email?
Yes. RMail allows your recipients to reply with a registered email.
With a single click, you allow your recipient to reply registered to your email. Without the need of licenses, certificates etc.
Can I use my own signature with RMail?
Yes, click on “RMail Options” and select “Signature Pad”. You can provide each email with your signature (embedded with IP number and desktop time) and the attachments with a digital signature (Digital Seal).
Can several people sign electronically with RMail?
Yes, anyone who receives a contract or an agreement and is listed in the recipient list can sign the document. The recipient of the fully signed document will see all signatures. All undersigned persons will also receive a copy of the fully signed document.
Is an electronic signature equivalent to a hand-written signature?
Depending on the country, occurrence and area of application, the legal regulations and provisions differ. Frama advises to make a risk benefit assessment in conjunction with a legal advice before using an electronic signature solution. Frama cannot give legal advice for evident reasons.
How can I activate LargeMail?
The LargeMail function is activated by ticking the “LargeMail” checkbox in the RMail sending window. You can attach up to 1 GB, spread over one or more files.
What is the maximum size of attachments for the transmission with LargeMail?
You can send one or more files totaling 1GB.
How long are files sent with LargeMail available for download?
Your files can be accessed for 14 days, after then they are permanently deleted from the server. This default setting can be adjusted if required.
Are my large files also sent registered?
Yes, all messages sent with RMail are sent automatically registered.
Which encryption technologies are used by RMail?
RMail offers two different technologies or specifications: TLS (forced) and SecurePDF. If TLS is set as the default technology, SecurePDF will automatically be used if TLS encryption fails.
Furthermore RMail offers with its RPX function the encryption of documents and emails with an individual password. You can thus ensure that the documents sent can only be read by the persons to whom you have given the password (DataLossPrevention).
Do RMail or other service providers save my encrypted messages and attachments?
No, content and attachments of your messages are embedded in encrypted form in the Receipt Authentications located in your local email archive.
How do I encrypt an email?
Click on “send registered” in your mail program, select the “encrypt” option and click “send”. It’s that easy!
Is RMail encryption strong enough?
RMAIL uses encryption technology that meets the privacy recommendations for “strong encryption”. This means that sensitive information can be sent with RMail.
Can the recipient of my encrypted email reply in encrypted form?
Yes. RMail allows your recipients to reply likewise in encrypted form. With a single click on the so-called SecureReply, you enable your recipient to reply encrypted to your email.
